Our Story

Where It All Began

Chris Drummond is the founder and principal of Durango Construction Company. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in the construction trades, Chris not only oversees the general management of the company but also is directly engaged in the hands-on design and management of the projects.

Ann Drummond is the Office Manager of Durango Construction. Ann maintains records and produces accurate and easy-to-understand invoices that track the costs and balances our projects, from start to finish. Ann also manages and maintains subcontractor reconciliations, paper work, and insurance forms.

We are accustomed to serving clients who live out of town or state, and can cater communications to fit your needs. Building a home is a very personal endeavor and DCC’s approach is to act as an agent to our clients, and our Open Book Accounting promotes trusting, comfortable, and effective working relationships which allow us to pursue our client’s interests in quality, schedule, and budget.

How We Do It

Pre-Construction

We start with a Pre-construction Services Agreement that includes the pre-build work involved in designing, budgeting, planning, and permitting of your project. At this stage we try to identify details, selections, and allowances. Once we have an agreeable scope and budget in place, we can then enter into a Construction Agreement and DCC will start the build.

Build

From the initial excavation for the foundation to the finishing touches and final walk-through, DCC will manage and oversee all aspects of your construction project. We meet with the project Owners on-site several times throughout the build at various milestones to verify the as-built progress, and review selection choices. Depending on the build scope and complexity, this phase typically takes 10-12 months.

Warranty

Although we work diligently to make sure your project is perfect and functional at the time we present you with the keys, our warranty program will provide you with peace of mind, knowing that we are ready and available to take care of any issues that might arise after move-in. Our warranty lasts for one year from the date of issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.
